Peter R. Tinsley, 59, of Paris, Tenn., formerly of Hayti, Mo. and Kennett, died Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2006, at Henry County Medical Center in Paris.
Born Sept. 9, 1946, in Memphis, Tenn., son of Byron Argo and Mary Catherine Ravenstein Tinsley, he graduated from Hayti High School, Arkansas State University and received his law degree from St. Mary's University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. He practiced law in New York and was an assistant prosecuting attorney in Kennett.
Suvivors include his wife, Mary Lou Hancock-Tinsley; three daughters, Leah Hampton Wenger, of New York, N.Y., Elizabeth Shay and husband, Joseph, of Wallingford, Pa., and Alana Abshure and husband, Jeremy, of Austin, Ark., and four grandchildren, Sam and Ian Shay and Adam and Pierce Abshure.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Byron R. Tinsley.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at the John W. German Funeral Home in Hayti.
Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. at the Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti.
