Ruby Harris, 88, of Kennett, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2006, at her residence.

Born April 2, 1917, in Kennett, daughter of the late Elmer and Grace Alice Green Wilkison, she was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kennett.

On July 14, 1937, she married Louis H. Harris, who preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 1993. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Gene Wilkison and one sister, Billie Franks.

Survivors include two nephews, Richard McMillan, of Florissant, Mo., and Ted Gargas, of Kennett; one niece, Alice Farmer, of Austin, Texas; three great-nieces, Lisa Gargas, of Austin, Texas, Beth Gargas, of Houston, Texas and Katie Stockamp, of Detroit, Mich., and one grand-nephew, Jay McMillan, of Phoenix, Ariz.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett with the Rev. Scott Andrews officiating.

Pallbearers were Gerald Wilkison, Jim Bruce, Doug Stanage, Jim Collier, Ted Gargas and Richard Edgington.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
