Kathryn Marie Fortner, 80, of Risco, Mo., died Friday, Dec. 30, at her home.

Born Oct. 28, 1925, in Malden, Mo., a daughter of the late Harry Edward and Kittie Belle Capshaw Rayburn, she was a retired school teacher and member of First Baptist Church at Risco.

On Jan. 26, 1947, in Clarkton, Mo., she married Louis Weldon Fortner, who preceded her in death May 20, 1997.

Survivors include two daughters, Martha Matlock and husband, Gordon, of Risco and Marie Ward and husband, Allen, of Gideon, Mo.; two sisters, Mary Olive Fortner, Cape Girardeau and Betty C. Ray of Wilmerding, Pa.; three grandchildren, Christian Louis Matlock and Timothy Paul Matlock of Cape Girardeau and Courtney Robertson of Olive Branch, Miss.

Funeral Services are 2 p.m. today, Sunday, Jan. 1, at First Baptist Church in Risco with Brothers Gene Lancaster, Lonnie Mittag and Nick Robertson officiating.

Burial will be in Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.

Bradshaw Funeral Home of Malden was in charge of arrangements.
