Norman Jay McMillion, 72, of Portageville, Mo., died Monday, Dec. 26, 2005, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center at Sikeston, Mo.

Born March 9, 1933, at Malden, Mo., a son of the late Pete and Bessie Knight McMillion, he served in the Missouri National Guard and was a member of First Christian Church at Malden. He was a former manager of Stovall Department Store at Malden, former officer and chief of Malden Police Department and former Dunklin County deputy sheriff.

On April 2, 1952, at Campbell, he married Janeane Burge who preceded him in death Sept. 16, 1995. On Dec. 28, 2001, at Portageville, he married Mary Jane Dixon, who survives.

Other survivors include one son, Dennis McMillion of Malden; one daughter, Donna Wallace of Reeds Spring, Mo.; step son, Donald Dixon of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; step daughter, Rhonda Stanfield of Gideon, Mo.; one sister, Betty Borders of St. Louis; two brothers, Mack McMillion of Columbia, Ill., and Jim James of Sumter, S.C.; 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Woody McMillion, Henry McMillion and Bill James.

Visitation is 6 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Bradshaw Funeral Home at Malden.

Funeral services are 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 29, at Bradshaw Chapel with Dr. Jeff Krupinski officiating.

Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
