Hanna Monaghan, 68, of Dyersburg, Tenn., formerly of Hayti, Mo., died Saturday, Dec. 24, 2005, in Dyersburg.

Born May 9, 1937 at Springfield, Mo., a daughter of the late John J. "Jack" and Hazle Pauline George Stewart, she was a 1955 graduate of Hayti High School, a U.S. Navy veteran and librarian for North Chicago School District.

On April 8, 1961, at Great Lakes Naval Station Chapel., she married Phillip Monaghan who survives.

Other survivors include one son, John Monaghan and wife, Liliana, of Plainfield, Ill.; one daughter, Mary Frances Monaghan of Winthrop Harbor, Ill.; and one sister, Rebecca Cooper of Des Moines, Iowa.

Funeral services were 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 28, at John W. German Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Mike Melton officiating.

Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery in Hayti.

Pallbearers were John Monaghan, Joe Perez, Steve Starnes Jr., Chris Starnes, Greg Starnes and George Nettleton.
