Adolph O. Goldsmith, 97, of Kennett, died Friday, Dec. 23, 2005, at National Healthcare of Kennett.

Born Dec. 20, 1908, at Kennett, a son of the late James and Susan Eliott Goldsmith, he was a retired professor of journalism, a World War II U.S. Army veteran and member of First Presbyterian Church of Kennett.

He married Josephine Bristol, who survives.

Other suvivors include two sons, Jimmy Goldsmith of Las Vegas, Nev. and Kent Goldsmith of Arkansas and one brother, Dan Goldsmith of Fort Worth, Texas.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sarah Sue Goldsmith.

Graveside services were 2:30 p.m. today, Tuesday, Dec. 27, at Oakridge Cemetery at Kennett with the Rev. Jocelyn Vanbuskirk officiating.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett was in charge of services.

The family suggests memorials to the Dunklin County Library, 209 N. Main St., Kennett or First Presbyterian Church, 226 N. Main St., Kennett.
