Born March 1, 1935, at Lindsay, Okla., a son of the late Ezra and Thelma Spencer Poe , he served in the U.S. Army and was owner-operator of a trucking company.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Poe; one son, Frank Poe of Ulysses, Kan., one daugther, Thelma Leitch of Garnett, Kan., one step-daughter, Karen Cole of Dyersburg, Tenn.; one step son, Randy Wimberley of Caruthersville; three brothers, Ezra Poe of Rockledge, Fla., Raymond Poe of Merritt Island, Fla., and J.T. Duncan of Ardmore, Okla.; two sisters, Jean Flesher of Tulsa, Okla and Bessie Franklin, Pauls Valley, Okla.; five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Hershal Poe.
Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Powell Funeral Home at Steele, until graveside services at 1 p.m. at Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele with Bro. Clarence Cornish officiating.
