M.S. Johnson, 84, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2005, at Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti, Mo.
Born March 1, 1921, in East Prairie, Mo., son of the late John Dillard and Mary King Johnson, he attended school in East Prairie. He was a timber cutter.
On Jan. 6, 1940, in Caruthersville, he married Alice Turnbow.
Survivors include three daughters, Priscilla Phelps and Carla Johnson, both of Caruthersville and Katie Lipscomb, of Steele, Mo.; one sister, Velma Byers, of Holbart, Ind.; four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in dedath by one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville with the Rev. Gary Andrews officiating.
Burial was in the Maple Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Phillip McDermott, J.B. Cunningham, Phillip L. Lipscomb, Steven Tilley, Johnny Trujillo, Rick Land, Wayne Phelps and Ersel Lipscomb.
