A Des Arc, Ark., man wanted for questioning in connection with a homicide there was arrested in Kennett recently, Police Department Chief Barry Tate said Tuesday.
Kennett Police Department Sgt. Gerry Duncan Thursday arrested Ronnie Edward Walters, 43, who listed both 1722 Wimberly and 2300 Independence Ave., Kennett as addresses.
Walters was arrested by virtue of a Des Arc District Court warrant issued July 12 that indicated the suspect committed the class Y felony of delivery of a controlled substance, Des Arc court documents indicated. His bond was set at $50,000, but was revoked Thursday by the Prairie County, Ark., Sheriff, the warrant stated.
The suspect was in police custody at the Dunklin County Jail pending extradition to Des Arc, police said.
Also, KPD Maj. Steve Williams said the Dec. 14 burglary of the Tom and Debbie Vavak residence was solved and that a laptop computer stolen during the crime was recovered and returned.
Arrested in connection with the burglary was Joseph Harris, 17, of 203 Beaton, Williams said.
The officer recovered the Hewlett Packard computer, an Hewlett Packard digital camera and a number of computer devices from a bathroom cabinet at Harris' home, Williams said.
Harris confessed to the alleged crime, Williams said. The suspect added that he was aided by an Hispanic man, but that suspect was never identified nor apprehended by officers, a report stated.
The value of the recovered property was more than $1,500, Williams said.
In addition to new second-degree burglary and stealing charges, both of them felonies, Harris faces charges filed previously in Dunklin County Circuit Court for the burglary of JR's Pawn Shop, a police document indicated.
Harris was in police custody at the Dunklin County Jail, according to Williams' report.
