Samantha Sparks and Jerry Don Nixon announce the birth of their son, Lawson Dewayne Nixon, born Sept. 24, 2005, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

He weighed 6 pounds and 10 ounces and was 19 inches long.

He is the grandson of Joyce Sparks and the late William "Al" Sparks of Rector and Wayne and Sharon Nixon from Kennett.
