Lloyd "Jack" Chailland, 83, of Kennett, died Sunday, Dec. 4, 2005, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.

Born July 7, 1922, in Kennett, son of the late William Franklin Shelton Lee and Ada Bennett Blanchard Chailland, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII.

On April 1, 1947, in Piggott, Ark., he married Marian Masters, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Everett Blanchard and Edgar Chailland and one sister, Eva Sutton.

Survivors include six sons, Jackie, Richard and Eddie Chailland and Jason and Jonathan Morris, all of Kennett and Phillip Chailland, of Florida; two daughters, Wander Leeker and Marian Christian, both of Kennett; one sister, Wanda Dotson, of Kennett; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Gaylon Williams officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Grandsons served as pallbearers.
