Wilson "Pete" Dawson, 89, of Kennett, died Monday, Dec. 5, 2005, at the Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett.

Born April 2, 1916, in Paragould, Ark., he was the son of the late William and Fannie McManes Dawson.

On May 5, 1934, he married Odelia Wilkerson, who preceded him in death on Feb. 18, 1990. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Earl Dawson and wife, Nita and Roy Dawson and wife, Ann, all of Kennett; four grandchildren, Norma Rebstock, of West Plains, Mo., Gary Dawson, of Kennett, Sherry Kirk, of Doniphan, Mo., and Derrick Dawson, of Holcomb; four great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with Bud Maxwell officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Larry Conley, Jerry Long, Michael Jones, Lonnie Grice, Ralph Martin and Ronnie Turner.

Honorary pallbearers were Mike Chism, Kenny Jackson, Terry Payne, Lawson Brents, Carl Alley and Jerry Alley.
