Curtis Whitehead

Curtis "Buddy" Whitehead, 73, of Colorado Springs, Colo., formerly of Cardwell, Mo., died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2005.

Born May 25, 1932, son of the late Clyde and Dona Whitehead, he was owner of Bud's Refrigeration and a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean conflict and the Vietnam War, where he received the Purple Heart with two stars and the Bronze Star with Clusters. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Bettye J. League Whitehead; two sons, Michael Whitehead, of Colorado Springs and Jon Whitehead, of Germany; three sisters, Donna Blair, of Memphis, Tenn., Carolyn Gray, of Leesburg, Fla., and Connie Benson, of Clermont, Fla.; two grandsons, Zach and Thad and one great-grandson, Caleb.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary, Eddie and Nell.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at the Dove-Whitt Fountain Valley Chapel in Fountain, Colo.

Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Colorado Springs.
