Avis Winston

Avis Winston, 79, of Kennett, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born Oct. 11, 1926, in Leonard, Ark., daughter of the late Hugh and Mae Grogan Hill, she was a photo vision tester.

On Oct. 14, 1945, she married Bob Winston, who survives.

Survivors also include two sons, Robbie Winston and wife, Mary, of Kennett and Randy Winston and wife, Jean, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; one daughter, Paula Winston Knox and husband, George, of Lakeview, Ark.; a daughter-in-law, Donna Winston, of Kennett; two brothers, Don Hill, of Kennett and J.B. Hill and wife, Martha, of Searcy, Ark.; one sister, Wilma Houston and husband, Dub, of Kennett; six grandchildren, Jennifer Ballard, Autumn Burk, Adam and Jonathan Winston, Heather O'Neal and Jillian Knox; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Avery, Delbert and Denzil Hill and two sisters, Floy Bradshear and Anna Dean.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 3, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Ed Jansson officiating.

Burial will follow at the Stanfield Cemetery in Clarkton, Mo.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund, 300 St. Francis, Kennett, Mo. 63867.
