Doris Jane Long, 76, of Braggadocio, Mo., died Monday, Nov. 28, 2005, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Born Oct. 15, 1929, in Caruthersville, Mo., daughter of the late Lex and Mary King Willis, she graduated from Caruthersville High School and was a member of the Boon Chapel Church of Christ.

On April 27, 1967, in Kennett, she married Willard Dempsey Long, who preceded her in death on Sept. 15, 1978. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, J.R. and Michael Willard Willis.

Survivors include two sisters, Bethel Ferrell, of Blytheville, Ark., and Theresa Thomasom and husband, Max, of Braggadocio and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 30, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Caruthersville with Michael Horton officiating.

Burial was in the Maple Cemetery at Caruthersville.

Pallbearers were Frank Copeland, Louis Wyatt, Jim H. Melton, Ron Horton, Michael Horton and O.L. Crowe.
