James Henry Hilburn, 75, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Thursday, Nov. 24, 2005, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis, Tenn.
Born March 11, 1930, in Sasafras Oak, Tenn., son of the late Isom and Gracie Bell Green Hilburn, he was employed at General Motors Corporation and was of the Pentecostal faith.
On June 12, 1950, in Piggott, Ark., he married Ruth Karen Howell, who preceded him in death on Feb. 27, 1984 and later married Sandra Kay Fletcher on Aug. 11, 1984, who survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Jimmy Wayne Hilburn, of Pfugerville, Texas and William T. Hilburn, of Union, Mo.; seven brothers, Bennie Hilburn, of Steele, Mo., Donald Hilburn, of Corning, Ark., Albert, Willie and Jerry Hilburn, all of Caruthersville, Steven Hilburn, of Sedalia, Mo., and Billy Ray Hilburn, of Rockford, Ill.; four sisters, Mary Olinger, of Kansas City, Mo., Peggy Stevenson, of Corinth, Miss., Geneva Hilburn, of Florida and Bonnie Hendricks, of Doniphan, Mo.; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Karen Ann Hilburn Mason.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.
Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Benji, Chris, Mike, Randy and Timmy Hilburn and Jason Jones.
