Born Feb. 28, 1923, in Kennett, son of the late Charles Van and Marion Dunmire Hunter, he was a U.S. Air Force veteran, having served in WWII. He was an auto parts manager.
On Feb. 19, 1950, he married Kathryn Williams, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Mike Hunter, of Kennett and one grandson, Scott Hunter, of Kennett.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Elvis Charles "Bud" Hunter and one sister, Betty Vardell.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 21, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Ed Jansson officiating.
Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
Pallbearers were Johnny Robertson, Dennis Nail, Rick Gore, Steve Turner, Robbie Winston and Billy Joe Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers were Luke Carter, Benny Merguie, Spencer Stout, Glenn Richardson, Don Jackson, Ken Shumate, John C. McMullan, Morris Huffstutler, Tommy Kelley and Tommy Lyons.
