Lourene Caldwell Thacker, 85, of Portageville, Mo., died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005, at Kennett.
Born Feb. 4, 1920, in Chickasaw County, Miss., daughter of the late William Wesley and Nora Hoke Caldwell, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the College Hill Baptist Church in Calhoun County and attended the Boekerton Baptist Church in Portageville.
Survivors include five daughters, Nancy Ellen Serigstad, of Lake San Marcus, Calif., Linda Forrester and Gail Burton, both of Portageville, LaQuita Gloth, of Rockwell, Texas and Dorothy Turner, of Kennett; three sons, J.K. Thacker Jr., Wayne and Johnny Thacker, all of Portageville; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Kirk Thacker, Sr.; five children, William Brose, Frances Ruth, Mamie Annette Thacker and infant twins; one brother, Glen Caldwell; two sisters, Nell Redcher and Sue Tanguey and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the Pryor Funeral Home Chapel in Calhoun City, Miss., with Bro. Danny Burton officiating.
Burial was in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Chickasaw County.
Pallbearers were grandsons.
