Ida Verdell Brittain, 90, of Gideon, Mo., died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2005, at the Gideon Care Center.
Born Aug. 24, 1915, in Crossett, Ark., daughter of the late Ira Vinson and Anna L. Fielder Browning, she was a member of the Church of Christ in Gideon.
On Oct. 9, 1931, in Caraway, Ark., she married Lowell Randolph Brittain, who preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 1992. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Hettie Mae Banton, Nell Gunter and Marjalane Watkins and two brothers, Ercell and Lawdrian Browning.
Survivors include two daughters, Wilma Buchanan and husband, Lloyd, of Gideon and Carolyn Reeves and husband, Carl, of Greenbrier, Ark.; one son, Jerry Brittain, of Lepanto, Ark.; two brothers, Gordon Browning, of Caraway and Charles Browning, of Ocala, Fla.; seven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 7, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Gideon with Bruce Reeves and Kevin Lawrence officiating.
Burial was in the Stanfield Cemetery at Clarkton.
