Mattie Crawford

Mattie Edith Crawford, 87, of Kennett, died Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.

Born Dec. 24, 1917, in Marble Hill, Mo., daughter of the late William and Dora McIntyre Dewitt, she was a homemaker.

On Oct. 14, 1939, she married Everett Crawford, who survives.

Survivors also include five sons, Don Crawford, Bob Crawford and Ronnie Crawford, all of Kennett, Jerry Crawford, of Columbia, Mo., and Larry Crawford, of Booneville, Mo.; one daughter, Shelby Crawford Bugg, of Olive Branch, Miss.; two sisters, Leona Phillips, of Columbia and Dorothy Crawford, of Michigan; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Bernard, Chester and Hubert Dewitt and three sisters, Alma Pool, Annie Baily and Cora Dewitt.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 8, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Bud Evans officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.
