Betty L. Metz, 77, of Jonesboro, Ark., died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, at her residence.
Born in Kennett, daughter of the late Charles J. and Myrtle Wilburn Lemonds, she was employed as an administrator for the Rose Skill Care Nursing Home and a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church.
She married W. Fred Metz, who preceded her in death in 2004. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, W.S. and Revon Lemonds and one sister, Iris Lemonds.
Survivors include one son, J. Keith Metz, of Jonesboro; two daughters, Diane Unger and Nancy Lancaster, both of Jonesboro; two brothers, Delbert Lemonds, of Rockford, Ill., and Connie J. Lemonds, of Plano, Texas; three sisters, Charlene Sexton, of Fort Worth, Texas, Doris June Rabe, of Medina, Ohio and Glenda Gillespie, of Tucson, Ariz.; grandchildren, Eddie, Jeremy and Jamie Unger, Christina Bradway and William Metz and great-grandchildren, Morgan Unger and Jesse and Conner Bradway.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 8, at the Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the Walnut Street Baptist Church with Dr. Glen Putman and the Rev. Brandt Smith officiating and eulogy by Jeremy Unger.
Burial will follow at the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Caregivers Sunday School Class at Walnut Street Baptist Church and the Soul Survivors Support Group.
