Joetta Burke Paynter, 71, of Poplar Bluff, Mo. formerly of Fisk, Mo., and Kennett, died Sunday, Nov. 6, 2005, at her residence.
Born Sept. 11, 1934, in Kennett, daughter of the late Leslie Earl and Vivian Lacy Kilbreth, she had lived in Poplar Bluff since 1976, and was a retired registered nurse from Doctors Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff. She attended Hamtown Community Church and loved bowling and was an avid Cardinal Baseball fan.
She married Doyle Ray Burke, who preceded her in death in 1973. On Dec. 13, 1996, she married Ralph Paynter, who survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Doyle Burke and wife, Tracy and David Burk and wife, Dena Sue, all of Poplar Bluff; three daughters, Sherry Lucas and husband, Kenny, and Kelly Burke, all of Poplar Bluff and Patricia Goins and husband, Ricky, of Williamsville, Mo.; two sisters, Glenda Herrod, of Poplar Bluff and Leslie Brannan Holt, of Kennett; three brothers, Chester Kilbreth and wife, Donna, and Gary Kilbreth, all of Kennett and Larry Kilbreth and wife, Nancy, of Sedalia, Mo.; grandchildren, Jason Raddatz, Mandy Kimmel, Chad Burke, Lyndsay Burke, Lacy Burke, David Ray Burk and wife, Wendy, Kimberly Davis and husband, Damon, Terry Trout, Jeffrey Lucas and wife, Stephanie, Connie Lucas, Holly Yarbro and husband, Brian, Angie Edgar and husband, Kevin, Ross Goins and wife, Jennifer, Chris Blake and Caesey Cline and great-grandchildren, Darin Kimmel, David Lee "Trey" Burk, Abigail Burk, Olivia Davis, Houston Davis, Hunter Lucas, Halee Lucas, Morgan Yarbro, Holden Edgar and Colton Edgar.
She was preceded in death by one son, Daniel Ray Burke; one sister, Mona Lee Wilkison and one brother, Donald Gale Kilbreth.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, Nov. 8, at the White-Sanders Funeral Home in Fisk.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at the White-Sanders Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Terry Scott officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.
