Born Nov. 29, 1921, in Cooter, Mo., son of the late Arthur C. and Martha Jane Smith Weed, he was a WWII veteran, a construction worker and a farmer.
On Nov. 29, 1942, in Blytheville, Ark., he married Mildred Elizabeth Presnell, who survives.
Survivors also include six children, Jack Weed and wife, Elizabeth, of Steele, Mo., Arthur C. Weed and Martha Hendricks, both of Dyersburg, Tenn., Ralph L. Weed and wife, Sandy, and Patty Chandler, all of Hayti and Mellissa Lowry and husband, Eddie, of Poplar Bluff.; 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two children, Walter C. and Betty Sue Weed; two brothers, Jake and Willie Weed; three sisters, Annie Garrett and Louise and Ruby Mercer and two grandchildren, Caley Chandler and Craig Hubbard.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with the Rev. John Earl Dunavant officiating.
Burial was in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti.
Pallbearers were Jack, A.C. and Ralph Weed, Bobby and Cody Chandler and Eddie Lowry.
Honorary pallbearers were Anthony Ireland, Scott Holland and Robert Johnson.
