Austin Marion Ellison, 69, of Kennett, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2005, at his residence.

Born Sept. 10, 1936, in Kennett, son of the late Alva and Mary Harrison Ellison, he was an insurance agent.

On Feb. 14, 1973, he married Carolyn Counts, who survives.

Survivors also include seven sons, Joe Corter and wife, Susan and Terry Corter, all of Kennett, Jackie Ellison and wife, Debbie, of Malden, Mo., Scott Corter and wife, Laura and Jeff Corter, all of Piggott, Ark., Johnny Ellison and wife, Donna, of Strawn, Texas and Ron Ellison and wife, Sandy, of Branson, Mo.; four daughters, Pam Smothers, of Kennett, Leisa Ellison Rodriguez and husband, Fernando, of Strawn, JoEllen Branine and husband, Dennis, of Woodward, Okla., and Donna Bowers, of Rector, Ark.; three brothers, Lanuel and Alva Lee Ellison and Elvis West; two sisters, Mary Lou Hughes and Alvina Powell; 32 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Ellison; one sister, Deloris Parks and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Thursday, Nov. 3, at McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with James Powell officiating.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.
