Mary Lou Barrett, 85, of Jonesboro, Ark., formerly of Hornersville, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at South Wind Heights retirement home.
Born April 24, 1920, at Hornersville, a daughter of the late A.J. and Mary Smythe Langdon, she was a school teacher and homemaker. She was affiliated with the Methodist Church at Hornersville and a member of Eastern Star, Music Club and Gamma Phi Beta.
On Dec. 28, 1945, at Hornersville she married Elbert Donald "Ed" Barrett who preceded her in death Feb. 14, 2005.
Survivors include one son, Dondee Barrett and wife, Jane Ellen, of Jonesboro; one sister, Jewell Maclise of Guilford, Conn.; two grandsons, Myles Langdon Barett and Burt Barrett, both of Jonesboro; and two great-granddaughers, Emma and Eva Grace Barrett, both of Jonesboro.
Graveside services were at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, Oct. 27, at Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett with the Rev. Doug Clinton officiating.
Pallbearers were Marty Moore, Max Ray Moore, Mardon Layne, John Edmonston, Myles Barrett and Burt Barrett.
Honorary pallbearer was Joe Hemingway.
