Richard "Big Steve" Hankins, 50, of Campbell, Mo., formerly of Kennett, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, at Regional Hospital of Jackson at Jackson, Tenn.

Born June 11, 1955, at Kennett, a son of the Virginia Fern Dearing Hankins of Farmington, Mo., and the late Richard Burnice Hankins, he served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam.

Survivors include two brothers, Paul Hankins and wife, Kim, of Campbell and Larry Hankins and wife, Tena, of Farmington; three sisters, Barbara Hallum and husband, Bob, of Holcomb, Linda Haggard of Campbell and Virginia Wild and husband, Karl, of Farmington.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at McDaniel Funeral Service Chapel in Kennett with Brother Danny Collins officiating.

Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemtery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Derrick and D.J. Treat, Justin and Kyle Hankins, Damon Middleton, Greg Shore, Kevin McKay and Karl Wild.

Honorary pallbearers are Herbert Hankins, Danny Hankins, George "Sonny" Burnham and Bob Hallum.
