James Allen DaVault, 60, of Malden, Mo., died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005, at St. Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.

Born Sept. 14, 1945, in Meadville, Pa., son of the late Alva Allen and Louise Barnes DaVault, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He was employed at the St. Jude Water Treatment Plant and of the Southern Baptist faith.

Survivors include one son, John DaVault and wife, Kerry, of St. Louis; one sister, Myra Fritzius and husband, Bob, of Starkville, Miss., and one granddaughter, Audrey DaVault, of St. Louis.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Bill Jackson officiating.

Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.
