Hazel Irene Evans, 88, of Ballwin, Mo., died Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2005, at her residence.
Born Nov. 29, 1916, in Campbell, Mo., daughter of the late James O. and Rosa Ann Riddle Smothers, she was a homemaker and a member of the First Assembly of God in Malden, Mo.
On Nov. 28, 1936, in Campbell, she married Mirl Evans, who preceded her in death on Feb. 5, 1987. She was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include three daughters, Rosemary Wilburn and Marjorie Gamblin, both of Ballwin and Brenda Terrell, of Bernie, Mo.; one son, M. Ray Evans, of Tucson, Ariz.; nine grandchildren, Donald G. Wilburn, of Richmond, Va., Curtis Gamblin, of San Diego, Calif., Christopher Gamblin, of Brimington, Wash., Gregory Gamblin, Candace Thacker, Traci Boyle and Brent Terrell, all of Malden, Cynthia Sweeney, of Phoenix Ariz., and Ronald Evans, of Scottsdale, Ariz., and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today, Friday, Oct. 21, at the Landess Funeral Home in Malden.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Shoup officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden.
