On July 1, 2005 the Parker Hannifin Plant in Kennett, began its 5S program.

5S stands for Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain. It will take approximately one year to go through all five phases and when the fifth stage is reached, the habits and practices adopted during the 5S program will be sustained.

At the most fundamental level, all the steps of 5S translate into a fundamental clean-up of the workplace. This clean-up leads to improved levels of lead-time, improved quality and reduced costs.

Members of the 5S team are Sandy Logsdon, Ralph Bell, Steve Prince, Gayla Blanchard, Debbie Tuten, Ashley Burns, Scott Lopez, Shelby Barton, Norma Mitchell, and Larry Petty.
