Bruce Eady named chief executive officer at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center

Health Management Associates is bringing a new face to Poplar Bluff.

Thursday, October 13, HMA named Bruce Eady as chief executive officer of Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Joe Riley, the hospital's outgoing CEO was promoted to chief executive officer at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi.

Eady comes to Poplar Bluff from MacNeal Health Network in Berwyn, Illinois where he served as chief executive officer.

"At Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center, we will continue to be a community hospital that is patient-focused. That is why we are here," said Eady. "We believe in delivering high level care in a safe environment to achieve the best possible patient outcomes. We want to maintain our growth and development so our community and surrounding area will continue to come here for care."

Riley began his new assignment Monday.

"It has been a privilege to work together with our employees, physicians, volunteers and Board of Trustees these past two years. Great things have happened including the expansion of our continuum of care and the addition of new physicians to our medical staff," Riley said. "My family and I leave Poplar Bluff with many life long friends."

Prior to his most recent position in the Chicago, Ill. area, Eady built more than 20 years of experience in various administrative roles in Texas and Missouri hospitals including St. Louis and Columbia. He earned bachelor and master's degrees in nursing and business from the University of Texas at Arlington in Arlington, Texas.
