Born June 17, 1918, in Campbell, Mo., son of the late Virgil and Bertha Wallace Cooper, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII. He was employed at Pepsi-Cola, a member of the Mt. Gilead Baptist Church until it closed, and then attended Linn Oak Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Bonita Hopkins Cooper, of Malden; one brother, Vernon Cooper, of Malden and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Glessner.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Luther Crane officiating.
Burial was in the Elder Cemetery at Campbell.
