Born June 17, 1940, in Malden, Mo., son of the late Orbley and Mary Effie Houlthouser Nail, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in during the Vietnam era. He was employed with Greyhound Trailway and a was a member of the 2nd Southern Baptist Church in Malden.
On April 18, 1966, in Malden, he married Linda Creason, who survives.
Survivors also include one daughter, Chery Christisen, of Union, Mo.; one son, Christopher Nail and wife, Kary, of Hillsboro, Mo.; one sister, Dorothy Phelps, of Moscow Mills, Mo., and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at the Bradshaw Funeral Home Chapel in Malden with the Rev. James Hamlett officiating.
Burial was in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Greenville, Mo.
