Elsie Haywood

Elsie E. Haywood, 90, of West Memphis, Ark., formerly of Malden, Mo., died Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at Crittendon Co. Memorial Hospital.

Born July 30, 1915, in Oran, Mo., daughter of the late Robert Henry Mobley and Myrtle Jane Eskridge, she was employed at Memphis City Schools. She was a member of the Second General Baptist Church in Malden.

She married Ray Haywood, who preceded her in death on May 11, 1967. She was also preceded in death by one son, Robert "R.C." Haywood; one brother, B.F. Mobley; one sister, Alice Parks and one granddaughter, Tammy Darr.

Survivors include one daughter, Uvyonne Koeller, of West Memphis, Ark.; one granddaughter, Tonya Serda, of Memphis, Tenn., and six great-grandchildren, Jill and Allison Bankston, Kaylynn, Kristin and Brittany Carmikle and A.J. Darr.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Malden with the Rev. James Black officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Park Cemetery at Malden.
