Million new pastor at Friendship Baptist

After being without a pastor for a little over a year, Friendship Baptist Church was feeling a little unsure about what lay ahead. A well established rural church on the outskirts of Kennett, members of the 125 year old church knew that God had a plan for them they just weren't sure what it was.

Different situations involving the replacement of the former Pastor, Dale Rickman had not worked out in favor of the church for various reasons, when one day they received a resume from Reverend Dave Million.

Million was the pastor for a southern Baptist church called Tabernacle Baptist in Piedmont, Missouri and was seeking God's wisdom in directing him to his needed location.

"I prayed about it and felt like God really had called me to be here," said Million, referring to Friendship Baptist.

The church congregation felt the same about what God wanted for them and so it was official on September 18, 2005 that Million, his wife, Delores, and their 5 year- old grandson, Isaac David Ridgul, would move from Piedmont to the church parsonage.

"My being here is well committed intent," said Million.

He continued by saying that it was difficult to find the words to describe the joy he feels from the people at Friendship Baptist Church and that they are truly a group of God's people.

Million and his family have been well received by the congregation who also claims that his wife, who has performed songs of worship, has a beautiful and enchanting singing voice.

"The Lord is speaking and living through me and I love him with all of my heart," said Million in reference to his personal relationship with God.

He is excited about his new position with the church and extends a loving welcome to those who don't have a church home to be a part of their service. In addition, he is coming at a joyous time in which the church is celebrating its 125th Anniversary, a huge milestone to be a part of.

Million is a modest man who's self proclaimed "love" for his wife, family, and God will touch your soul and remind you that the important things in life can actually be very simple.
