Irene Bruce, 82, of Senath, Mo., died Friday, Sept. 30, 2005, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.

Born June 23, 1923, in Cardwell, Mo., daughter of the late William Marion and Minnie Reece Vance, she was retired from Emerson electric.

On June 8, 1938, in Cardwell, she married Leo Bruce, who preceded her in death on March 5, 1972. She was also preceded in death by one son, William Leo Bruce; one daughter, Brenda Bruce; three brothers, E.J., T.J., and Larry Vance and three sisters, Fannie Rupple, Mae Luther and Norma Sue Vance.

Survivors include three sons, Donnie Bruce and wife, Sandra, of House Springs, Mo., Wayne Bruce and wife, Shirley, of Austin, Ark., and Jamie Bruce, of Senath; five daughters, Judy Neighbors and husband, Jerry, Shirley Stephens and husband, John and Terri Coleman and husband, Larry, all of Kennett, Delores Northcutt and husband, Bobby, of Cooter and Becky Bruce, of Senath; one brother, Bert Vance, of Holden Beach, N.C.; one sister, Edna Keniston, of Hornersville, Mo.; 17 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Doug Clinton officiating.

Burial was in the Lulu Cemetery at Senath.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Keith, Mark, Brad, Jason and Darren Bruce, Gary and John Neighbors, Billy and Matthew Coleman and Gene Northcutt.
