Fannie Ruth Carter, 68, of Kennett, died Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005, at Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett.
Born Jan. 3, 1937, in Deering, Mo., daughter of the late Jim and Mattie Lou Speakes Champ, she was a licensed practical nurse.
On Sept. 20, 1952, in Piggott, Ark., she married Billy Joe Carter, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Hank Charles Carter, of Kennett; three brothers, Richard and Tom Champ, both of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and William Champ, of St. Louis County, Mo. and three sisters, Helen Smith, of St. Ann, Mo., Barbara Higgins, of Kennett and Connie Cluck, of Yakima, Wash.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. today, Friday, Sept. 30, at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
