Warren Battles, 84, of Cottonwood Point, Mo., died Friday, Sept. 16, 2005, at his residence.
Born Aug. 25, 1921, in Clifton, Tenn., son of the late Joe R. and Mary Isabel Hill Battles, he attended Cottonwood Point and Tyler schools. He was employed at Taylor Brothers Ferries and Brown Shoe Company.
He married Patricia Blanks, who survives.
Survivors also include five daughters, Sandy McEwing, of Hayti, Mo., Teresa Armstrong and Veva Henson, both of Paragould, Ark., Mary Lewis, of Caruthersville, Mo., and Tammy Travis, of Steele, Mo.; 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharon Kay Cobb; four brothers and six sisters.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 18, at the H.S. Smith Funeral Home in Caruthersville with the Rev. Troy Alley officiating.
Burial was in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele.
Pallbearers were Dennis and Robert Lee Lewis, Jeremy and Christopher Armstrong, Robert Travis and Kevin Cobb.
Honorary pallbearer was Stephen Henson.
