Betty Palmer, 77, of Senath, Mo., died Monday, Sept. 12, 2005, at National HealthCare in Kennett.
Born June 21, 1928, in Kennett, she was the daughter of the late Morris Hazard and Cora Belle Bryant Cumpton.
On June 26, 1953, in Senath, she married James Edward Palmer, who preceded her in death on Oct. 11, 1981. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Poy, Cletus, Cecil, Alvin and Milford Cumpton and two sisters, Selma Hamm and O'Dessa Sample.
Survivors include two sons, George Palmer and wife, Jerris, of Jonesboro, Ark., and Barry Palmer and wife, Phyllis, of Kennett; one daughter, Laura Leigh Williams and husband, Paul, of Owensboro, Ky., and five grandchildren, Brooke and Darby Palmer, Layne Benson and Debra and Jordan Williams.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 15, at the Church of Christ in Senath with Greg Pollock and Paul Williams officiating.
Burial was in the Senath Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jordan Williams, Keith Milligan, Harold Lee Watson, Scotty Jackson, Byron Small, Terry Palmer, Tim Whitehead and Bud Cumpton.
Honorary pallbearers were Haze Montgomery and William Green.
McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath was in charge of arrangements.
