Ray Eugene Scott, 72, of East Alton, Ill, formerly of Qulin, Mo., died Friday, Sept. 9, 2005, at Alton Memorial Hospital, Alton, Ill.

Born Oct. 6, 1932, at Qulin, son of the late Guy Earnest and Cora Margaret Vancil Scott, he was a U.S. Army veteran, retired steelworker, and member of Bethal Pentecostal Church in Rosewood Heights, Ill.

On Sept. 16, 1952, at Piggott, Ark., he married Lorene Rhamy who survives.

Survivors also include one son, Danny Ray Scott and wife, Bridget, of Philadelphia, Pa., one sister, Lola Haynes, of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; a special ex-daughter-in-law, Ruth Fritz; six grandsons and one granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Katherine Whittington, Julean Crane and Christine Huber and one brother, Louis O. Scott.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel in Campbell with the Rev. Royce Roy officiating.

Burial was in Brown Chapel Cemetery at Broseley, Mo.
