Jerry Davis, 58, of Kennett, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005, at his residence.

Born Oct. 5, 1946, in Kennett, son of the late James Jefferson and Smatha Birtie Mae Gray Davis, he was a U.S. Marine veteran, having served in Vietnam. He was a member of the Charles M. Cable Detachment Marine Corp League and the Kennett VFW.

On Oct. 16, 1971, he married Linda Shipman, who survives.

Survivors also include one son, Todd Davis and wife, Amy, of Kennett; one brother, Marvin Davis, of Patterson, Mo.; two half-brothers, Ben White, of Kennett and Henry White, of Grandin, Mo., and two grandchildren, Sydney and Mary Kathryn Davis.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Marie Durante.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today, Friday, Sept. 9, at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel with Spencer Furby officiating.

Burial will follow at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.

Pallbearers are Larry McDowell, Dale Beaty, Dale Gray, Roger Wheeler, Jeff Durante and Gerald Granger.

Honorary pallbearers are Omer Gaskins, Keith Mitchell, Rick Gore, Doyle Privett, Bill Privett, Bill Owens, members of the VFW and Charles M. Cable Detachment.
