Born Feb. 14, 1952, in Campbell, son of the late Lonzo Howard Sr., and Dorothy Jean Prentice Akridge, he was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Vietnam War. He was employed at Kelley Electric, a member of the American Legion and was of the Baptist faith.
On April 20, 1973, in Malden, Mo., he married Kathy Crawley, who survives.
Survivors also include one son, Jeremie Akridge, of Campbell; three brothers, James and Robert Akridge, both of Campbell and Jerry Akridge, of Gideon, Mo.; five sisters, Phyllis Sims and Joyce Ellsworth, both of Malden, Mo., Della Vannasdall, of Gideon, Judy Collins, of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Anna Walbert, of Campbell and one grandson, Cadun Akridge, of Campbell.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Donald, Wilburn and Terry Akridge.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 .m. today, Tuesday, Sept. 6, at the Landess Funeral Home in Campbell.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at the Landess Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Rickman officiating.
Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery-Landess Addition in Campbell.
