Lemith Elizabeth Garrett, died Saturday, Sept. 3, 2005, at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Daughter of the late J.C. and Verdie Bond Jones, she attended the Emerson Street Church of God in Kennett.

On Nov. 29, 1942, she married Ray Garrett, who preceded her in death on Jan. 28, 1994. She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include two sons, Gail and Gary Garrett, both of Kennett; three daughters, Melva Brank, of Jacksonville, Fla., Pat Tippen, of Kennett and Donna Spencer, of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, Kenneth Jones, of Kansas City, Mo., and J.C. Jones, of Rockford, Ill.; three sisters, Nayola Laz, of Chicago, Ill., Shirley Bowling, of Kennett and Ruth Pruett, of Memphis, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren, Gerry and Kevin Patton, Blake Smotherman, Pam Laramore, Jay Phillips, Chris, Ashley, Sarah and Chelsea Garrett, Will, Katie and Ray Spencer and Leah Tippen and three great-grandchildren, Garret and Lexie Laramore and Evin Patton.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Sept. 6, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Glen Hurst officiating.

Burial was in the Oak Ridge Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Gerry Patton, Kevin Patton, Blake Smotherman, Chris Garrett, Jay Phillips and Jody Laramore.
