Rodney S. Riggs, 77, of Kennett, died Monday, Aug. 29, 2005, at Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett.

Born Oct. 13, 1927, in Kennett, he was the son of Oliver Loren Sr., and Otra Turnbow Riggs.

He married Revella Ballinger, who preceded him in death in 1980. He later married Sue Marler, who survives.

Survivors also include one daughter, Janis Riggs Stanfill, of Kennett and Stockton, Calif.; two step-sons, Alan Crancer and wife, Valerie, of Madison, Miss., and Stephen Crancer and wife, Michele, of Rector, Ark., and seven grandchildren, Lisa Lawhorn, Hayden, Ryan, Sydney, Marla, Layden and Grayson Crancer.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 1, at the First United Methodist Church in Kennett with the Rev. Richard Coombs officiating.

Burial was in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Kennett.

Pallbearers were Roger Sledge, Bob McCuiston, Towny Sparks, Keith Mitchell, Jim Toombs and Chris Sledge.

Honorary pallbearers were Bill Brigance, Gene Lemonds, Gerry Gamble, J.C. Skaggs, Dave Andrews, Jon Robinson, Snowball Woodard, Gib Ennis, Gerald Wilkison, Milton Tate, Cyril Owens, Carl Williams, Virgil Nipper and Skeeter Kell.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 300 College, Kennett, Mo. 63857.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Kennett was in charge of arrangements.
