Esther Inez Speight, 90, of Hayti, Mo., died Saturday, August 27, 2005, in Nashville, Tenn.
Born June 3, 1915, at Memphis, Tenn., daughter of the late Earl Aaron and Janie Christian Goodrum, she graduated from Caruthersville High School. She was a member of the Hayti Methodist Church.
On Oct. 5, 1935, in Caruthersville she married Arden Speight who preceded her in death in Feb. 19, 1985. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Bishop and Ruby Denny, and one brother, Inland Goodrum.
Survivors include two sons, Earl A. Speight of Memphis, Tenn. and Wayne Speight of Caruthersville; four grandchildren, Billy, Timothy, Annie Marie and Kimberly Speight and one grandchild, "Little" Billy.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 30, in the H.S. Smith Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenny Lee officiating.
Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were William A. Speight, Robert Hart, Earl Hart, Speedy Powell, Bobby Powell and Ed Hart.
