Nettie E. Burns, 99, of Kennett, formerly of Hornersville, Mo., died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, at National Health Care in Kennett.
Born March 4, 1906, in Steele, Mo., daughter of the late Odus Arthur and Cora Rice Griggs Duniven, she was a member of the Methodist Church in Hornersville and a member of the Hornersville's United Methodist Women. She was the owner of a variety store.
On Aug. 30, 1925, in Steele, she married Hurbert Edward Burns, who preceded her in death Sept. 11, 1984. She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Elizabeth; one brother, Woodrow Duniven and two sisters, Amber Maxwell and Grace Raab.
Survivors include, three sons, Joe A. Burns, of Springfield, Ill., Kenneth Edward Burns, of Cardwell, Mo., and Billie Burns, of Hornersville; one brother, Joe Duniven, of Redlands, Calif.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 30, at the Bradshaw-Emerson Funeral Home in Hornersville.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, at the Hornersville United Methodist Church with the Revs. Mike Hargraves and Jim Pemberton officiating.
Burial will follow at the Horner Cemetery in Hornersville.
Pallbearers are Mark Moore, Marty Moore, C.H. Young, David Powell, David Christain and Steve Droke.
