Claudia Justus Beaton, 87, of Paragould, Ark., died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, at Greene Acres Nursing Home.
Born July 29, 1918, in Calico Rock, Ark., daughter of the late Thadius Claude and Kate Justus, she was a graduate of Rector High School, a bank cashier, served as deputy tax collector of Clay County and retired from the University of Central Arkansas. She was a member of the Paragould First United Methodist Church.
She married Robert Leon Beaton, who survives.
Survivors also include two sons, Paul Beaton, of Cordova, Tenn., and Dr. Robert Leon Beaton Jr., of Summerfield, N.C.; three daughters, Ann Stallcup, of Rector, Kay McCord, of Pocahontas, Ark., and Tammy Thompson, of Little Rock, Ark.; 16 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Major Kenneth Beaton; her step-mother, Wilene Brawley Justus and one brother, Edwin Justus.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at the First United Methodist Church in Rector..
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at the First United Methodist Church with the Revs. Larry Martineau and Paul Dubar officiating.
Burial will follow at the Linwood Cemetery in Paragould.
Pallbearers are her sons-in-law, Richard Thompson, Wes Stallcup and Jack McCord and grandsons, Todd Beaton, Nathan Stallcup and Blake McCord.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons, Jason and Rett Thompson and Mike, Sawyer and Dax Beaton.
Memorials may be made to the Greene County Senior Bees at Paragould.
