Byron Ra Tinsley, 68, of Hayti, Mo., died Thursday, Aug.11, 2005 at the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital in Hayti.
Born April 3, 1937, in Kennett, Mo., son of the late Byron Argo and Mary Catherine Ravenstein Tinsley, he was a piano teacher and a member of the Hayti First United Methodist Church, where he served as the music director and organist.
He was a 1955 graduate of Hayti High School and a graduate of The Julliard School in New York City.
Survivors include one brother, Peter Bob Tinsley and wife, Mary Lou, of Paris, Tenn.; three nieces, Leah Hampton Wenger of Manhattan, New York, Elizabeth Mary Shay of Wallingford, Pa. and Alana Ra Abshure of Cabot, Ark. and two aunts, Mildred Raines of Memphis, Tenn. and Mary E. Tinsley of Pompano Beach, Fla.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, Aug. 14, 2005 at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Hayti with Dr. Paul Currie officiating.
Burial was held in the Woodlawn Cemetery at Hayti, Mo.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Abshure, Joe Shay, Johnny McCulloch, Stephen Rhodes, Martin Ray and Bobby Irions.
