Carlon "Baldy" Hamlett, 68, of Holcomb, Mo., died Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Ark.
Born April 6, 1937, in Paulding, Mo., he was the son of the late Roy and Rosa Neil Hamlett.
On Oct. 5, 1956, he married Mabel Williams, who survives.
Survivors also include two daughters, Judy McCallister, of Holcomb and Cathy Stroud, of Pocahontas, Ark.; one sister, Jonell Shirley, of Clarkton, Mo.; five grandchildren, Stephanie and Jody McCallister, both of Holcomb, Tasha and Tia Stroud, both of Pocahontas and Erica Burton, of Porsha, Ark., and one great-grandchild, Elijah Burton, of Porsha.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Joe Bob, Robert, Euel, Deward, Hughie and Billy Wayne Hamlett and three sisters, Beulah Hamlett, Mary Burgess and Dorothy Magouirk Coleman.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, Aug. 16, at the McDaniel Funeral Home Chapel in Kennett with the Rev. Harold Dunbar officiating.
Burial was in the Lloyd Cemetery at Holcomb.
Pallbearers were Jerry Tice, Jerry Laster Jr., Gary Pigmon, Tommy Stockton, Leon Morgan and Lanny Samples.
Honorary pallbearers were Bob Hamlett, Bill Hamlett, Mack Hamlett, Alva Shirley, Terry Magouirk and Eddie Burgess.
