Hester Lucille Hicks, 96, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Born Feb. 26, 1909, in Parma, Mo., daughter of the late James A. and Minnie Bell Everhart Kindred, she attended school in Parma and was a member of the Temple Baptist Church.
On Nov. 5, 1927, in Caruthersville, she married Aubrey Floyd Hicks, who preceded her in death on May 8, 1977. She was also preceded in death by one son, Darrell Hicks; one sister and one brother.
Survivors include three daughters, Delores Andoe, of Aurora, Ill., Kathryn Irions, of Altus, Okla., and Shirley Gatewood, of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, at the Temple Baptist Church in Caruthersville with Billy Irions Jr., and the Rev. Jim Pilcher officiating.
Burial was in the Little Prairie Cemetery at Caruthersville.
Pallbearers were Bobby Irions, Mose "Bob" Andoe, Billy C. Irions Sr., Jared Novotay, John Boyer and Bobby Gatewood.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home of Caruthersville was in charge of arrangements.
