James Sharp

James "Bill" Sharp, 77, of Wappapello, Mo., formerly of Kennett, died Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005, at his residence.

Born March 25, 1928, in Dyersburg, Tenn., he was a retired machinist at Borg-Warner, a member of the V.F.W. and Eagles Lodge at Wappapello. He was of the Baptist faith.

In 1963, he married Peggy Ruth Harbison, who preceded him in death on April 6, 1998.

Survivors include nine children, Kathy Clingon, DeeDee Young, Sharon Graham-Doughty, Jimmy Sharp, Patsy Bell, Tanny Thompson, Travis Sharp and Kim Grant, all of Rockford, Ill., and Robyn Evans, of Wappapello; one sister, Opal Gibson, of Eugene, Ore., 17 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at the Wappapello Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5, at the Wappapello Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bob Taylor officiating.

A second visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8, at the Delehanty Funeral Home in Love's Park, Ill., with the funeral service following at 2 p.m.

Entombment will follow at the Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Rockford.

Cottrell Funeral Service of Poplar Bluff is in charge of arrangements.
